QualitEE Project research showcased in the Joint Research Centre’s latest energy service market report

17/01/2020

The Joint Research Centre (JRC) has recently published a Science for Policy report exploring the EU’s energy service market in 2019. This report showcases research undertaken by the QualitEE project which looks into the development and implementation of national quality criteria and quality assurance schemes in energy efficiency services (EES).

Most notably, our country reports on the energy efficiency services market and quality have proved to be an important data source. Our country-specific research has supported JRC’s analysis by providing an insight into multiple EES markets on a national scale, particularly in relation to:

  • Market size and market development
  • ESCO suppliers
  • ESCO market actors
  • Market demand (ESCO clients)
  • Size of investment (€) and duration (years) of energy projects

This information has been used by JRC to investigate the EES markets in Austria, Belgium Bulgaria, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic, UK and the Netherlands.
